It feels like I just arrived, but my flight home is tomorrow. Time flies.
After finishing my dissertation I have been doing some recreational reading, and the books I read had quotes that were eerily apropos for my current situation…
“The important thing about having lots of things to remember is that you’ve got to go somewhere afterwards where you can remember them, you see? You’ve got to stop. You haven’t really been anywhere until you’ve got back home.”
― Terry Pratchett, The Light Fantastic
“…it occurred to me that the voracious ambition of humans is never sated by dreams coming true, because there is always the thought that everything might be done better and again.”
― John Green, The Fault in Our Stars
And those two thoughts kind of sum up my sentiments.
There will be some retrospective blogging until I use up all the photos I haven’t uploaded yet. I even have some Wonka Wednesdays I have not posted. These may be mixed in with general arriving-back-in-the-US kind of posts.
Now, back to packing!
